Illustration Friday - This Weeks Theme "Moon"

I'm going to commit to keeping my blog up to date since it's been a while since I've posted. One way for me to jump back into doing side projects is to participate in contests. So this is my interpretation of this Week's Illustration Friday's theme of "Moon."

I also wanted to do a new drawing as opposed to posting something I've done in the past and submitting that. It will allow my to keep my ideas fresh and not re-hash previous works. I also didn't  want to spend too much time on it because of my daytime job, so I posted my progress on my Youtube channel.

Bovine Rendering Process

Dan is the Tripolasaur's alter ego and not all of Dan's heads appreciate his vocal range.

This is my story behind my creature the "Tripolasaur."

The Tripolasaur is an Oracle and guardian to the deity Jdow. If you’re granted an audience with the Tripolasaur you are to ask it a series of questions. If it finds your questions or your life’s purpose worthy, the deity Jdow will bestow it to you. Unbeknownest to would-be travelers, this creature only grants an audience to Jdow to the men and women with the blackest hearts.

Oil Painting in Progress - Steps One and Two

This is two steps in a three part process to the final work. I have to soften that harsh shadow shape to the viewers right because the eye is drawn there and I don't want that to be the focus. The shadow shapes on her face need to be enhanced.18 X 24 oil on canvas board.
