Oil Painting in Progress - Steps One and Two

This is two steps in a three part process to the final work. I have to soften that harsh shadow shape to the viewers right because the eye is drawn there and I don't want that to be the focus. The shadow shapes on her face need to be enhanced.18 X 24 oil on canvas board.
